Privacy Policy

katchiGRAB is built so there is almost nothing to have a policy about. This page says plainly what little we handle, and what we never see.

What never leaves your device

Capturing, cropping, marking up, redacting, recording, pinning, and saving all happen in your browser, on your device. The images and videos you capture are not uploaded, transmitted, or visible to katchimedia unless you choose to share a link. Your grab history and preferences (such as your theme) are stored by your own browser, on your device, and you can clear them at any time.

What we don't do

katchiGRAB has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts. We do not profile you, fingerprint you, or sell or share personal information with anyone. Files you save carry no location or device metadata.

When you share a link

Sharing is optional. If you create a private link, your grab is encrypted on your device before anything is uploaded, and the decryption key travels only in your link, after the # — browsers never send that part to any server. What our share service stores is the encrypted file, an unguessable ID, and its expiration time. katchimedia cannot read, view, or recover the contents. Shared files are deleted when the link expires — 24 hours, 1 hour, or the first view, whichever you chose — or sooner if you delete the link from your share tray.

To prevent abuse, the share service briefly counts upload requests by network address; those counters are deleted automatically within about an hour and are not connected to any content.

Service providers

The site and share service are hosted by Netlify, which, like any web host, processes standard connection data (such as network addresses) to deliver the site. If you choose to support katchiGRAB with a payment, checkout is handled by Stripe on a katchimedia payment page; Stripe processes your payment details under its own privacy policy, and katchimedia receives only your email address and the amount, which we use to send a receipt and for our records. Card numbers never reach katchimedia.

Children

katchiGRAB is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included.
