The screen grabber that keeps your pixels to itself.

katchiGRAB™ captures, marks up, records, and shares any part of your screen — from your browser, with nothing to install, nothing uploaded unless you choose to share, and nobody watching.

What it does

Grab anything
Pick a tab, a window, or your whole screen. A live preview holds until you snap, so the grab is exactly what you meant — or pop the controls into a small panel that floats above every app while you set things up.
Trace any shape
The lasso cuts out exactly what you draw. Outside the trace stays transparent, so a cutout drops cleanly into decks, docs, and chats.
Mark it up, redact it for real
Arrows, boxes, highlights, text, and step numbers stay adjustable until you export. Redaction — pixelate or black out — is burned into the pixels: covered means gone, not hidden under a see-through marker.
Record it
The same capture can record to a video file, saved straight to your device.
Float any grab in a small window that stays above every app while you work, until you close it. In Chrome and Edge.
Share your way
A private encrypted link that self-destructs — after 24 hours, 1 hour, or a single view — or your device's own share sheet. The share tray keeps recent grabs one click away during a call.
Build one picture from many
The board arranges several grabs into a single image, with snapping, padding, and shadows handled for you.
Right-size every file
Ten formats with correct resolution on high-density screens, and a max file size that shrinks a save until it fits — quality first, then dimensions, all on your device.
Make it yours
Dark by default, light if you prefer, twelve accent colors, keyboard shortcuts throughout, and it installs as an app.

Seven things people hate about screenshots

A straight answer to each — including the two no browser tool can honestly fix.

Menus close the moment you hit the shortcut

katchiGRAB holds a live preview instead of snapping instantly: open the dropdown, hover the state you want, then snap — or set a delay and let the timer take it. For feeds and pages longer than one screen, capture in passes and stack them on the board; katchiGRAB won't pretend to auto-stitch what sticky headers and infinite scroll break.

Screenshots leak things they shouldn't

Redaction here destroys the covered pixels — no contrast trick brings them back. Shared links are zero-knowledge: the image is encrypted on your device, the key stays in your link and never reaches a server, and IDs are unguessable. Saved files carry no location or device metadata. There is no analytics script on this page or any other.

Files pile up and disappear into one folder

Every save is named with its date and time, your recent grabs wait in the share tray until you clear them, and a max file size keeps saves from eating your disk. Your history lives in your browser, not on a server.

Getting a grab to another device is a chore

A private link opens on any device — send it to your own phone and the grab is there, then it burns on schedule. On a phone, katchiGRAB works in reverse: screenshot, open, mark up, share.

Sharp screens make blurry screenshots

katchiGRAB records the true pixel density of every capture, so exports open at the right size and text stays crisp between Retina and standard monitors. WebP, AVIF, and PDF are built in — no conversion detours.

Built-in editors are destructive

Marks stay movable and undoable while you work; nothing is burned in until you export. The one deliberate exception is redaction, where destructive is the entire point.

Free tools break links and then charge you

katchiGRAB links expire on your schedule by design — that's the privacy feature, not neglect — and every share leaves a local copy that is yours forever. Everything you just read is free, with no locked tier waiting.

What it won't do: capture streams your operating system protects (that black rectangle is the OS doing its job), or scroll another app on your behalf. Any tool that claims otherwise is asking for more access than a screenshot is worth.

How private sharing works

  1. Your grab is encrypted on your device with a key created just for it.
  2. Only the scrambled file is uploaded. The key rides in your link after the # — browsers never send that part to any server, so katchimedia stores data it cannot read.
  3. The link expires when you said it should — 24 hours, 1 hour, or the moment it's viewed once — and you can delete it sooner from the share tray.

Free, and staying that way

katchiGRAB is free to use, with no account, no ads, and no locked features. katchimedia builds and maintains it as a KATCHI APPS product.
